Money is tight. How can I afford this right now?
In the end, how much it costs shouldn’t really matter — it’s all about how much of a return you can generate by better investing your marketing dollars. That’s part of why we offer a 14-day trial so you can see the results for yourself.
Why don’t I just use the Google URL Builder?
If you’re not making money yet, that might be the way to go. The Google URL builder does nothing beyond creating the link itself. You still need to store that link somewhere, store additional (private) information, and create a shortlink.
Why don’t I just use an excel spreadsheet?
Before UTM Link Manager was created, a spreadsheet was the best option. A spreadsheet is capable of some of the UTM Link Manager features such as storing additional (private) information but doesn’t allow you to easily create short links. It also introduces some new challenges such as version control and access management that are super important.
Will this product continue to be updated?
This is just the beginning for UTM Link Manager. You’re getting in at the ground floor of a product that has many more amazing features still to come. Just a few we’re working on:
- Team Management – You’ll be able to see who created each link, and can even restrict users to only be able to create links using existing presets
- Branded Shortlinks – Use your own domain to create shortlinks e.g. //go.yoursite.com/x5y7
- Browser Extension – Quick and easy link creation right where you need it, will intelligently recommend how to structure your link based on the page you’re on
- Integrated Reporting – See your UTM Link Manager data right inside Google Analytics (thumbnails, labels, and descriptions)
Will this work for an app business?
Unfortunately, mobile app installs aren’t as straightforward as web tracking – you’ll need to configure you app to support UTM tracking. You should still use UTM Links whenever as normal you promote your website but for app installs you’ll need to follow the setup instructions here – https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3389142.
